Captain Theodore Graves---Skilled Racer

One of our most renowned racers is Captain Theodore Graves, skipper of DeDa's Toy. Graves sails a 31-foot Cal. He was of the nine skippers who was part of first African American crew of men and women to race in the Chicago to Mackinaw Race in 1994.

Since then, Ted has lead the way in racing amongst Black Chicago Sailors. He takes his racing seriously. His seamanship skills continue to manifest, year after year. He is a sought-after sailor for crew and knowledge. His accomplishments speak for him.

On Lake Michigan, where there are more boaters in this region than anywhere else and racing is very competitive, Ted has several awards to his claim.
